Faith is the Language We Use to Communicate with God (2)

Communicating with God

In the previous blog I had discusd how God wants communication and He wants it with you and me. That is why we were created in His Image, it has always been His sole desire. The problem arose when we thought that we created Him, God, in our image. Hence we developed the mode of communication by hit and miss, mostly missing communicating with God. Our arrogance pushed us away from God and His Word, His salvation and His way of Doing and Being.

Imagine that, the creation advancing further than the creator? Oh, you don’t have to, it’s in the pulpit with the ‘Seven Levels of Talking to God’ sermon and book series for $25.00. You really can’t blame them for creative ways of finance because you don’t want to give. Oops on your toes again. I’ll do my best to be nice…maybe!

In the earlier posting I focused on:

Hebrews 11:6

King James Version (KJV)

6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I did not get pass the first sentence which ensures our communication with God. God speaks one language that is ‘Faith.’  For example if you went to another planet and wanted to converse with them you would send someone to that planet to teach them your language so that they could communicate with you. God sent His Son Jesus to earth to communicate the language of ‘Faith’ to us.

I showed you in Hebrews 12:2, that Jesus is the author and finisher of your Faith. Remember in order to please God from Hebrews 11:6 you have to come to him in ‘Faith.’ Keep in mind that Jesus is ‘Faith.’ You cannot get to the Father any other way than Jesus who is Faith according to John 14:6 where we left off from the previous post.

In Hebrews 11:6 the second part of the verse was to ‘please God by Faith’ that was proved by several verses: Matthew 3:17, Matthew 17:5, and 2 Peter 1:17. The fact is that Jesus pleases God and Jesus is ‘Faith.’

You should be asking, ‘How do I get Jesus/my Faith?’ I’m glad you asked that. My personal favorite is the following:

Romans 10:9 – 10

  • Amplified Bible
Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
  • For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

There are other verses like:

Acts 15:11

  • King James Version
But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall besaved, even as they.
Ephesians 2:5

  • Amplified Bible
Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved( delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).

Ephesians 2:8

  • Amplified Bible
    For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved ( delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

2 Timothy 1:9

  • Amplified Bible
[For it is He] Who delivered and saved us and called us with a calling in itself holy and leading to holiness [to a life of consecration, a vocation of holiness]; [He did it] not because of anything of merit that we have done, but because of and to further His own purpose and grace (unmerited favor) which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago].

So, once you formed this relationship with Jesus Christ, NO I DID NOT SAY RELIGION, (Repeat to yourself, ‘she did not say religion.’) by believing in your heart, and accepting what He did for you on the cross by your verbal declaration that Jesus is your Lord.

Hebrews 11:6 has a third part that is your part which is: ‘for he that cometh to God must believe.’ Believing is one of the major keys to acceptance that Christians just don’t get. Meaning this: If your attitude is negative (you don’t believe/unbelief) you shut down your heart and it will not accept or receive anything. Matter of fact it repels the very thing you want no matter what it is. So, your ‘believer’ has to be turned on for you to believe. How do you turn it on? Simple, you make a decision out of your will. This means it is not based on feelings or sight.

The fourth part will have to be discussed in the next blog.

Much love,
Pastor Harris
