MOTHER’S DAY… God’s Part

Mother’s Day is a Reflection of God’s Love to humanity.

God Loves us and He has and is revealing His Love to us in every possible way. His Love is all-encompassing, full of Grace, Compassion and Mercy. His Love is total wholeness in every area of our lives so that it can lived out in the Life of Jesus Christ.

You might wonder and question how, Mother’s Day reflects God’s Love to humanity? God’s expression of Love has been His Arms around us like a mother’s arms holding her baby. His Arms are Jesus, the Love of God sent to humanity to reveal the many facets of God’s Amazing Love to us. Look at the following verse:

John 3:16

King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

One of the expressions of Love is that it has to give of itself, it cannot be contained. It yearns to be expressed. God expressed this by sending His Son, you see it’s the nature of Love who is God (1 John 4:8.) Just like the nature of a mother is to be a mother no matter what. It is just who she is.

Hebrews 1:1 – 3

Amplified Bible (AMP)

In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers inand by the prophets,

[But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir andlawful Owner of all things, also by andthrough Whom He created the worldsand the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].

He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholdingand maintaining and guiding andpropelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished ourcleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

Now reread Hebrews 1:1-3 again focusing on verse three while holding verses one and two in context of God talking about His Son Jesus. In verse 3 notice how it states that Jesus is the sole, the only expression of God’s Glory. What would be the singularity of this Divine Glory’s manifestation of God’s expression to humanity??? God’s Love, His Love that we know as Jesus the only begotten Son of God.

If you hold a mirror in front of you it will reflect your image, your very reflection in every detail. If you blink it blinks. If you laugh it laughs. The same is with God and Jesus. When God loved… Jesus appeared as His Love to us. Loving us as the Father Loved through Him to us.

Jesus came to reveal The Father’s Love, look at the following verses:

John 14:7-12

Amplified Bible (AMP)

If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.

Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father [cause us to see the Father—that is all we ask]; then we shall be satisfied.

Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]

12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

The discussion Jesus is having with His disciples is about who He is.  He tells them that they have seen the Father all along through Him in verse 9. In verse 10 Jesus goes one step further and tells the disciples that He and the Father are so intertwined that you cannot distinguish between the two of them and if they can they believe that. Verse 11, Jesus tells them to look at what works were wrought through Him; then be in a state of believing till they are fully persuaded so that their faith in Him will cause them to be one like Him and the Father.  This will cause the Father to express the continuation of His Love through them so that they can do the same works as Jesus. ( John 17:3-9, 18-26)

The key to understanding what I just said is knowing the true meaning of Glory because Jesus is the Glory of the Father (Acts 7:2-3.) The Greek transliteration of the word means the splendor of a thing. For example the splendor or glory of the sun is its light and its use of that light (heat, energy, sun tan, and etc). The Glory of God is His Love expressed and the use of His Love who just happens to be Jesus.  (John 3:16) Another example would be to tell a child to go and do something and he acts out of obedience and does it. The completed act of obedience is the glory of obedience. I then respond to their obedience by praising them. They become happy and exited over my praise. That happiness and excitement is the Glory of the praise. Glory will always be the expression of something. Look again at Hebrews 1:3 above at how Jesus is the expressed Nature of God. The Nature of God is Love 1 John 4:8.

Jesus is the Author and Finisher of Faith and our Faith according to Hebrews 12:2 below. So, Jesus has a process for you to have faith and it begins by being in a state of believing and finishing each state to the next level of being fully persuaded which finishes faith. (Romans 4:17-22) That is why Jesus was telling His disciples to believe in John 14:10-11 above. As the Author and Finisher of Faith it makes Him the Creator of Faith. As a creator He is the source and resource.

Hebrews 12:2

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leaderand the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Much love,
Pastor Harris
