MY SWEET SURRENDER…INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD (Part 2)

The Presence of God is not found; it’s sought after…

In the last post ‘MY SWEET SURRENDER…INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD’, I talked about pressing into the Presence of God. I used my example of being a child and desiring a one on one audience and relationship with my parents who had eight children and worked very hard. Life may or may not be busy for you, but the point is that you have to desire a relationship. Personal relationships do not happen by themselves. Desiring it is half of the battle but doing something about it makes it happen and is the other half of the battle.

So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

 

If you want something in life you just don’t hope for it, sit back and wait… you do something about it. Again, again, and again– ’til it happens, captain!

Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless?

My children’s grandfather told them that if they believed in something they would have to stand for it and be willing (if necessary) to die for it. Life should never be lived haphazardly or vicariously. Life needs to be lived on purpose, not by accident.

You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word].

 

When I began to seek the Presence of God, I had a family. I would get up extra early, sometimes in the middle of the night, to spend time with God. The Holy Spirit met me there everyday. I would leave out of town and my children would sometimes remark that when they slept in my bed, someone or something would always awaken them at 3am. I told them it was the Holy Spirit and He just wanted them to pray.

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

 

This is my prayer that I begin with:

 

Father, I beseech thee by the mercies of David that I begin this prayer life with you… for me.

 

I cannot do it, but you can help me. Please awaken me everyday at 4am or 5am

 

That I might pray. I desire to pray again at noon. And again after my Husband and

 

Children fall asleep. Lord help me to maintain and remember my bible verses daily.

 

Help me to become as naught so that you become everything in me and to me. Lord,

 

help me to become more like Jesus in every form, fashion and way. Help Gena to die so

 

that Jesus Christ may live. I thank You for my renewed sense of hunger for You and

 

prayer. I’m willing and ready to be used by You. Thank You once again for waking me

 

to prayer in Jesus Name. Amen, amen, amen….
