Today we recognize the Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. What made him an extraordinary man? One might say his color; another

Who do you serve?
Who do you serve?

might say his circumstance; again another might say something else. Surely he was born an ordinary man, did his parents know they were raising an extraordinary man? Good parents think that their child is extraordinary at sometime in their life! Can you see it in a child?  I really don’t know…

I believe that greatness is a seed placed in all of us to make us extraordinary.  I also believe that the seed of greatness has to be nurtured till it consumes you and then you become great. This consummation comes at a great cost. The cost is your life, your family, your friends and in the end… you. Who is willing to pay such a cost? Those who believe in a dream… Those who are lost to the dream… Is that you?…

I believe what made Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. an extraordinary man was his ability to dream, to dream beyond what he could physically see. He dreamt of a world to come, a world that he could only touch and through a dream. A dream so real that he was willing to sacrifice his life for it.

What could make a man dream like this? What can keep a man going when it all seems so lost? Love! Yes, love can make a man do extraordinary things…when love nurtures a dream. Love does not consider what it has to go through to love. Love does not add up the cost. Love can only see it’s objective, which is to love. You see Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. fell in love with a dream… his dream. His dream was for you and me. A colorless dream that incorporated a world loving like him and nurturing all dreams through love. He was not a perfect man, but he was a man perfectly loved and perfectly forgiven by God

Today, as you celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. don’t forget how he must have loved. Honor him by loving all of humanity. Love on purpose…

God is Love, Love conquers and covers it all…

Much love…

1 John 4:7-8

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him].

He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.
