Valentine’s Day

Love will change the world, one ripple at a time...
Love will change the world, one ripple at a time…

I would like to take the time and wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day (Singled and Coupled.) This day should be celebrated as a day of love for everyone, but just like everything else in our society we have trivialized it and made it a ‘selfie holiday.’

In kindergarten we gave Valentine cards to everyone, the teachers, the principle, and no one was left out. We have made it a day to exclude and not include others. It has become a day to value and devalue a person with. Really??? This is what I find so disappointing. I have pastored for 20 years and have pretty much seen it all. Men will break up with women before Valentine’s Day so they don’t have to buy a gift. Women will date men right before Valentine’s Day to get a gift and then break up afterwards. If you are singled you are made to feel like something’s wrong. If you are coupled then you have it going on. Crazy… where is the Love people? WAKE UP AND FIND LIFE IS NOT ABOUT YOU, IT’S ABOUT ‘US!’ IT’S ABOUT PEOPLE LIVING AND DEPENDING ON ONE ANOTHER FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE WHOLE. LOVE… LOVE… LOVE…

Personally I choose ‘purposed love’ to love everyone and I show it daily. Many of you have heard or read that I consider myself love. That is the position or motive for my existence in life. So now you understand how I find it disheartening to hurt others on this day that we have delegated to love.

It doesn’t cost much to show love. A simple gesture of love shown by opening a door for someone, a smile, a handshake, an attentive look, a hug, a kiss on the cheek, or a touch on the shoulder will do. I taught my children to do random acts of love. You don’t love to receive love; love is your being… it’s who you are. It should show in every part of your life when you are one with the source of Love. God is Love, He alone is my source of love. So when I love I receive more love and I give more love.

Instead of asking what did you get for Valentine’s Day so you can say what you got. Give Something for Valentine’s Day to someone who you know will not be getting something…

1 John 4:7-10

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know andunderstand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him].

He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.

In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him.

10 In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

God is Love, Love conquers and covers it all…

much love…
