Who Told You, ‘The Sky is The Limit?’ You Can’t Handle What You Have NOW!!!

The sky is the limit!!!

The phrase ‘the sky is the limit’ has been around for a long time. Its original intent  motivated people to do better in life by dreaming that they could do better. It was the carrot dangled out front, the fabulous golden ring!!! The problem with the idea of  ‘the sky is the limit’ is that it left some people in a dream state of reality. A state of mind with a sense of entitlement where they have not done due diligence through the process of earning things in life. It takes hard work to get out of where you are.  You do not escape where you are by dreaming you are somewhere else. Handling where you are in life will take you where you are dreaming to move on into the future.

I am amazed at the arrogance that some people portray as confidence or self-esteem thinking that this will get  them to their dream in life. Don’t they know that all we see is how insecure they are? Deal with that! What do I mean? Stop and think about the arrogant people (family and friends) that you ‘choose’ to allow in your inner circle. Before we get on them, what does that say about you? Weak people will always gravitate to towards arrogance –  the pseudo-strength. Is it self-confidence or a healthy dose of self-esteem? Uhh no. It’s selfishness, you know, me, me, me and me.

PEOPLE SHAKE YOURSELVES. We are living in a pseudo- fanatical, esoteric society that you helped to create without taking the responsibility for the monsters that it has created. In short you are living in a fantasy world. You do not have to go to Disneyland to experience this foolishness, just walk outside your front door and see all the people struggling to be something they are not. Why are we attracted to these  prideful people? For one, their level of selfishness amazes us. Somewhere inside you long to be like them and say, ‘get out of my face’ or ‘the world is about me’ like they do. What about how they act and treat others? These people are mean, rude and obnoxious to get their ways even if  they have to step on ten good people to get there. You know what they say, ‘the END always justifies the means.’ Why, that makes you want to slap somebody for their own good…REALLY?

Grown men and women throwing temper tantrums to get their way. We make them famous too; our movie stars, our hero’s, our over indulgent wannabees. They write songs, books and teach classes on it. Songs like ‘Take your healing’ or ‘I’m gonna get my Blessing.’ Books like, ‘Ten Steps to Answered Prayer’ or ‘How to Get Your Prayers Answered.’ I call them gimme books.

It seems like you always have to feed their egos even when the idea is just plain stupid. What is worse than feeding their egos? Your willingness to do so. SHAKE YOURSELVES AND SOMEONE ELSE! We like that confident, rebellious look that says, ‘I know it all and I can do it all; just ask me anything!’ I am gagging now… Why do you find their, ‘look at me, look at me,’ attention robbing, annoying behavior acceptable in your life?

Your answer is, ‘Well, I am trying to help them and I do not want to hurt their feelings.’ My answer for your answer is, ‘SO WHAT?!  They are hurting your feelings and they do not care.’ Take a lesson from them and hurt their feelings by telling them their behavior is no longer tolerated and that you love them enough to say so.  You do not want to exhibit that same immature, insecure, self hating and people medicating behavior to prop them up.

Deal with where you are by not denying the existence of your situation. That is not faith but foolishness. Deny it the right to exist in your life by confronting it with the Word of God to change your NOW. You are now ready to handle, ‘The Sky is The Limit!’

What does God say about pride?:

Psalm 10:4

  • Amplified Bible
The wicked one in the pride of his countenance will not seek, inquire for, and yearn for God; all his thoughts are that there is no God [so He never punishes].

Proverbs 8:13

  • Amplified Bible
The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil;pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.

Proverbs 11:2

  • Amplified Bible
When swelling and pride come, then emptiness and shame come also, but with the humble (those who are lowly, who have been pruned or chiseled by trial, and renounce self) are skillful and godly Wisdom and soundness.

Proverbs 16:18

  • Amplified Bible
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 21:4

  • The Message
Arrogance and pride—distinguishing marks in the wicked— are just plain sin.

Proverbs 29:23

  • Amplified Bible
A man’s pride will bring him low, but he who is of a humble spirit will obtain honor.

Mark 7:22

  • Amplified Bible
Coveting (a greedy desire to have more wealth), dangerous and destructive wickedness, deceit; unrestrained (indecent) conduct; an evil eye (envy), slander (evil speaking, malicious misrepresentation, abusiveness), pride ( the sin of an uplifted heart against God and man), foolishness (folly, lack of sense, recklessness, thoughtlessness).

1 Timothy 3:6

  • Amplified Bible
He must not be a new convert, or he may [develop a beclouded and stupid state of mind] as the result of pride [be blinded by conceit, and] fall into the condemnation that the devil [once] did.

1 John 2:16

  • Amplified Bible
For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
